DB2167 is a high-performance externally wound air/oil separator core designed specifically for heavy-duty industrial screw air compressors. Developed and manufactured by Sotras, an Italian industrial filter manufacturer, it is mainly installed inside the air-oil tank of air compressors to thoroughly separate micron-sized lubricating oil mist mixed in compressed air, ensuring clean, oil-free compressed air for downstream gas consumption points.
Core Values and Functions
• Ensure Air Purity: Control the residual oil mist in compressed air within an extremely low range of 1 - 3 ppm to protect downstream high-precision filters, dryers and pneumatic equipment from oil contamination.
• Reduce Lubricating Oil Consumption: Adopt an extremely efficient coalescing recovery mechanism, so that the separated lubricating oil can flow back to the airend for recycling, greatly cutting the maintenance cost of frequent oil refilling.
• Lower System Energy Consumption: Feature an optimized structural design with an initial pressure drop of only 0.15 - 0.25 bar. Low resistance means the air compressor consumes less electric power when discharging the same air volume.
Note di installazione
Anti-static (gasket grounding): DB2167 is normally equipped with graphite gaskets fitted with conductive metal pins. Do not scrape off, misplace or omit these conductive pins/stainless steel sheets during installation. Ensure absolute metal contact between the metal housing of the separator core and the flange of the air compressor oil-gas barrel. Failure of static conduction can easily ignite the oil-gas mixture inside the barrel and cause a flash explosion of the unit. Check the oil return pipe: When replacing a new filter element, the oil return pipe inside the barrel must be inspected. ◦ Check whether the one-way valve of the oil return pipe is clogged. ◦ Adjust the length of the oil return pipe so that its end is 2 to 3 millimeters above the bottom groove of DB2167. If it is too high, it cannot suck the accumulated oil at the bottom and will cause oil leakage; if it is too low, it will press and puncture the bottom of the filter element.
Manutenzione e sostituzione
The initial pressure difference after installing a new filter element is usually 0.15 - 0.25 bar. ◦ When the oil separation pressure difference displayed on the control panel reaches 0.8 - 1.0 bar, it indicates that the filter element is significantly clogged and replacement should be prepared. ◦ Limit replacement point: The pressure difference must never exceed 1.2 bar. If this value is exceeded, the filter element risks being ruptured or crushed by high-pressure airflow at any time. The normal operating temperature should be maintained at 80°C - 95°C. ◦ The machine is strictly prohibited from running at a high temperature above 100°C for a long time; otherwise, it will accelerate the aging of the epoxy resin adhesive and sealing gaskets inside the separation core, resulting in premature oil leakage.
